A Sign To Start

A Sign To Start

This is a sign to start. If you've been waiting for some magical sign from the universe to start something you've only dreamt of doing- this is it. It may not be magic but it'll do.

I've written it before and I'll continue to write these words:

You can not let the pressure of perfection stop you from doing what you love.

If you allow this societal ideal of perfection control you, the dreams you have will sit in the corner and collect dust. They will sit there as stagnant as can be- and your heart will ache every time you pass them by. It is so easy to get caught up in the comfort of life. In making sure you only do the things you know how to do, or only try new things if they are what most will expect from you. It is easy to say "Oh I'm too busy for that," instead of "I'm scared I won't be good enough." It's easy to say "I thought that was a silly idea anyway," instead of "I'm worried others will think I'm ridiculous for trying this." It's easy to justify it to yourself. Fear makes that easy.

I am here to tell you that avoiding the things that make your soul sing is not the way our lives are meant to be lived. We are not meant to do what is comfortable all of the time. So, this is your sign to start. Start the workout program. Start training for the half marathon. Start writing. Start painting again. Start cooking or baking. Start taking photos. Start what you've been dreaming of doing- whatever it may be. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start in order to be great.

Today I am taking my own advice. I'm sucking it up and doing something that scares me and excites me at the same time. I have started a youtube channel and I'd love it if you'd go give my first video a watch.

Click HERE for the link to my channel. :)

(Or in the future, click the small youtube icon in the top right corner next to the search bar).

Starting this channel scares me quite a bit, mostly because I'm scared of what others will think. I'm scared of not being good enough. Yet I am doing it anyway. Today I am not letting the fear of failure dictate the things I do. I hope this inspires you to do the same. To live a life full of passions rather than half-hearted energy.
